Akamani Ascent

It has a big glacial plateau and a fairly sharp ridge leading to the summit. After crossing a little plateau at (4400 m.a.s.l./14435 feet) and a short break, we walk slightly on our right towards the Akamani, to reach a glacial lake at the foot of the massif. We walk along the lake, on the moraine. Then we have to find the way through a rocky barrier, to arrive at the edge of the glacier. It is very similar to the glacial plateau of Chachacomani, a wide gently sloping plateau that we will cross to the bottom of the crests. From there, the slopes are steeper (50º / 55º). We arrive at the ridges for sunrise. After a short break, we continue on the ridges to a vertical rocky wall. Finally we can go around it from below. We pass crossing below the rocky bar. This section is slightly tricky and we must be alert. We are now left with an ice wall (60º / 65º) which will lead us to the summit. It is a real beautiful glacial route, technical at will. Very
